the Welham Girl’s School was founded by M.S Oliphant in 1957. It is a boarding school for girls located in Dalanwala, Dehradun. The school is affiliated to the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi, Dehradun. The school was established with the aim of providing quality education to young girls and has been sincerely following its motto-  ‘Aartta Shanti Phala Vidya’-The Fulfilment of Education Is to Bring Peace to the Suffering.

The inculcates in the students a sense of discipline and the spirit of service. Started with a number of 10 girls today the Welham Girl’s School holds the strength of up to 600 girls. Each House is under the charge of a house mistress and a matron. Junior and Senior girls have separate hostels. The school closely looks after the nutritional requirements of all the children a well-balanced diet with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines.  Fresh fruit, vegetables and milk are provided every day, and extra or special food, if approved as necessary by the school doctor, is catered for.
