About Cambrian Hall School, Dehradun

Cambrian Hall School, Dehradun is a residential-cum day English Medium School. It has a co-educational pattern of study. Located in a serene environment in Dehradun, the school has been one amongst the oldest and finest schools in Dehradun. It is modernly facilitated and has an impeccable infrastructure. The school is affiliated to the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE) Board New Delhi.

The School was established on 12th July 1964 by Late Col. Shashi Shumshere J.B Rana and today the school has a strength of at least 1700 boys and girls who have been learning and growing each day with this outstanding school. Cambrian Hall is located amidst the scenic and serene areas of the Dehradun city. With excellent teachers and a huge infrastructure with the facility of hostels, hospital and a gigantic library, the school has been doing a tremendous work in shaping young minds.

Cambrian Hall-Campus

The school has a sprawling campus with the facilities of hostel, hospital and other in-house facilities. It has two huge blocks where the accommodations to the children are given on the basis of their classes. The Jodha Block accommodates kids from class 8 to 12 with fully equipped modern laboratories for Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Home Science. The Doutre Block accommodates kids from class 3 to 6 and has Junior Library, art room and Computer Science Lab.

An Experimental Block is also there which has a SUPW room, Open Air Theatre, Dance room and music room and a Senior Library. The school has a huge auditorium where 1000 students can be accommodated with an inhouse basketball court.

Hostel and Boarding facility

The school has a hostel for the boarders and is called the Shashi Block. With modern dining halls, hygienic kitchens and nutritious food the hostel is very well facilitated. Studesnts are given an accommodation in the dormitories, the Principal, Vice-Principal, Bursar, Estate Supervisor, Kitchen in-charges and house master live in the same campus but in separate block of quarters. The girls hostel is separate in a close proximity to the Principal’s residence.

Sports Activities in School

Cambrian hall pays a complete attention towards the physical health and outdoor activity of the students. The school organises a number of sport activities and ensures that the school participates in various interschool sport competitions. The school arranges for a wide range of games for students like Hockey, Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volley Ball, Badminton, Cross-Country, Athletics, PT, Gymnastics and Table Tennis.

Admission in Cambrian Hall School, Dehradun

The admissions in Cambrian Hall is done through registration cum entrance test. The registrations open from November to January in every academic session. Date of entrance examination is scheduled on 2nd Saturday of February month.

Subjects to be asked in written Exams:
Class I to VI- English, Hindi, Maths
Class VII to XII- English, Math, Hindi, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

Documents required at the time of Admissions

• Mark sheets of having passed the previous exams.
• The transfer certificate should be from a recognised school.
• The transfer certificate should be countersigned by the Inspector of the Schools if the student is from outside Uttarakhand.
