The State Transport Authority of Uttarakhand has decided to Increase the Local Transport Fare of Dehradun like City Bus, Auto and Vikram in the city of Dehradun from Thursday, 2nd of August. The fare of city bus has been decided according to the kilometres slab. Earlier the fare of travelling for a distance of 5 km through the city bus was Rs 5, which has now been raised up to Rs 10. The minimum fare price of travelling in Dehradun city bus is still Rs 5 for the convenience of the public, but earlier the distance travelled within this fare rate was 5 km which has now been decreased to 2 km, as per the new KM slab, the Dehradun city bus fare increase
Increase in the Fare of Auto-Rickshaw & Vikrams in Dehradun
A 15% increase in the fare rates of auto-rickshaw and Vikrams will be seen in Dehradun. The minimum fare of Vikram which was 8 Rs/km has now been increased to 9 Rs/km and the route on which people paid a fare of Rs 10 in a Vikram will now be paying Rs 12. So Vikram Fare

Similarly the minimum fare of an Auto-Rickshaw was 15 Rs and then 9 Rs/km has been increased, with the minimum fare of Auto-Rickshaw being 23 Rs and then further 10 Rs/km. There will be a 25% increase in the fare of an Auto-Rickshaw from 10 pm till 05 am. Local Transport Fare increase in Dehradun.
An Yearly Increase in the Fare of Private Vehicles
The State Transport Authority has sent a proposal to the State Gov pleading for Increase in Fare of Private Vehicle in Dehradun operators have been demanding a fare increase similar to that of the Roadways Vehicle. The Roadways Bus has been charging a fare of Rs 1.72 for every one km from every passenger whereas the Private Vehicle fare charge of each km from every single passenger is 95 paise. Seeing this STA has declared a 15% increase in the fare rate of Private Vehicles on an yearly basis. Similarly ordinary buses moving in a 30 km areas of municipal corporation and municipality, have experienced an increase in the fare from 2 Rs to 36 Rs on a distance of 2 km to more than 30 km under 16 different categories.
Charges of School Van will be Increased 20% from Today
The Highcourt has given an order to take action against the overloading in school vans. The number of students supposed to be seated in each school van was 14 and now it will be decreased to 11 students which is in accordance with the capacity of the van. Seeing a decrease in number, there has been a 20% Increase in School Van Fare in Dehradun. There are 450 Van Moderators that are associated with the School Van Union of Dehradun. Earlier the minimum charges of school van was 1200 Rs and maximum 1500 Rs per month, which will now have a 20% increase from the month of August.
