Get ready to explore exquisite pieces of Contemporary Art as the Uttara Museum of Contemporary Art in Dehradun will soon be opening its gates for the public to have a glimpse of the rich heritage and culture of the hill state of Uttarakhand. It is located at the MDDA compls at Clock Tower. The museum not only has a very dope collection but it is also quiet peculiar as it has pieces of art made up of safety pins. The museum will open for the public in the first or second week of July 2018.
Uttara Museum of Contemporary Art is a way to represent the artwork of old established artists of the state and open the gates for the young artists in the town. The art museum is the brainchild of the prominent artist of Uttarakhand, Mr. Surendra Pal Joshi. The artefacts of this museum represent the life of Uttarakhand along with the heart-rending moments of the 2013 disaster of Uttarakhand which is also preserved in this museum.
The Uttara Museum of Contemporary Art has incredible pieces made up of safety pins, some of these creations include a Helicopter, Pahadi Basket, Pahadi Drums etc. The first floor of the Museum can be used by artists in form of an art gallery. Only the artists of Uttarakhand will be permitted to display their work in the gallery. The creation of this museum is a means of exhibiting the peerless talent of the artists of Uttrakhand which has all the potential to have a magnificent art market for the art patrons in Delhi and Mumbai.
